Process view of technology management

The focus of presentation is technology management, especially activities for technology adoption and technology transfer. The framework for discussion is process management, which is closely related with quality management. Especially the recent concept of business process re-engineering (BPR) has introduced methods and tools, which are migrating from design and production environment towards more general organisation planning and management applications. Two case studies are introduced. A study of 59 R&D contract projects at VTT highlights the significance of project implementation and project management as core processes. Another case study addresses internal technology transfer between two business domains.
